Fish oil process
Fish oil refers to the oil made from fish, including fish body oil and fish liver oil. Generalized fish oil also includes fish and other aquatic animal oils such as whales and dolphins. It is an important raw material for food, medicine and chemical industries. Fish oil is mainly composed of mixed triacylglycerols, which is the same as common animal and vegetable oils. The difference is that there are more highly unsaturated fatty acids in the fatty acids composed of fish oil than ordinary land animal and vegetable oils, so they are easily oxidized in the air, causing rancidity and deterioration. Among these highly unsaturated fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid are active substances to reduce hyperlipidemia and have high medicinal value. In addition, cod liver oil also contains different amounts of vitamin A and vitamin D, which can be used as raw materials for manufacturing pharmaceutical cod liver oil.
